Our client is actively Senior Geotechnical Engineer – London

Qualifications & Experience:
• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering with appropriate experience either with geotechnical consultancy or as a designer with a ground engineering contractor.
• ICE membership advantage.
• Minimum years of 5-8 years of geotechnical design experience

Software Skills:
• MS Office
• Slope/W or equivalents
• Oasis Software Xdisp
• Plaxis 2D/3D
• WallAP or equivalents for shoring design
• Settle 3D

Business Development:
• Starting to develop a network of contacts.
• Be ambassadors for the Company.
4. Project and company Role
• Consultancy and design experience.
• Preparing geotechnical scoping document and preparing interpretations.
• Ability to perform Plaxis 2D and 3D for detailed SSI analysis including piled-raft, retaining wall, GMA
foundations and deep excavations.
• Able to represent the practice at project level.
• Demonstrate ability to take responsibility for projects.
• Ability to manage the design and construction stages of a project.
• Ability to supervise a small team of engineers and technicians.
• Be responsible for delivering work to a fee agreed with a Project Manager.
• Interface for the task include: –
– Task delivery to agreed deadline and fee.
– Task cost control
– Task quality.
– Present to clients.
– Track Vos and additional costs
• Construct project teams from internal and external resources.
• Ensure QA/QC is undertaking and signed off.
• Contribute to the development of company procedures by taking an active role in task
groups.
• Attend team meetings and play an active role in the development of procedures within your
team.
• Agree design philosophy/design fundamentals.
• Review and comment on deliverables produced by Engineers & Technicians at key stages
through a project.
• Have knowledge of concept design, buildability, detailed design, high rise buildings,
construction techniques, procurement routes, risk assessment and claim assessment.
• Prepare request for proposal document including specifications, geotechnical/geophysical
tests, drawing layout for investigations as necessary for the projects based on location, type
of structure.
• Performing Soil-Structures interaction design of piled raft foundations
• Prepare recommendations for foundation design like bearing capacity, soil springs for raft
foundations, recommendation on pile capacity as per size and recommend suitable depth.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and other professionals involved in the projects.
• Be mindful of cost implications when you make recommendations.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills
• Ensure correct design approach as per QA/QC procedure and standards
