Fielders is recruiting for a Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an established and growing regional team, part of the companies 90 strong national geo-environmental resource.

The company provides services for a broad range of private clients and the public sector, working on a variety of challenging projects and sites including providing geo-environmental consultancy services to the development, health, education, defence, energy and infrastructure sectors.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be the overall design, management and interpretation of geo-environmental ground investigations and the design, supervision and validation of remediation works

You will have the following skill set.
• A degree in geology or a relative subject
• An excellent understanding of the current practice and governing standards/guidance for the investigation of contaminated land and/or geotechnical investigation.
• An excellent understanding of health, safety and environmental management, as applied to ground investigation
• Knowledge of environmental law, standards and regulatory guidance;
• Experience in the writing of geo-environmental interpretative reports and the development of conceptual site models and ground models
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be fully IT literate as you will be required to write clear, concise and technically robust reports.
• A full, preferably clean, driving license.
• A team player with strong social, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self driven and be striving to achieve Chartership. Company has an approved mentor scheme aligned with the Geological Society of London to support the chartership process for Chartered Geologist or Scientist.
Desirable
• Masters degree in geology, environmental science or related subject.
• Experience of detailed quantitative risk assessment
• Experience in the design, supervision and validation of contamination remediation works and/or earthworks
• Experience of the interpretation of geotechnical data
• CAT and Genny Training;
• SSSTS or SMSTS;
• Water Hygiene Card;
• CSCS card relevant to the position
