Our client is an independent geological practice that bridges the gap between geotechnical consultancy and ground investigation.
Founded in 1987, they have a diverse and returning client base, regularly working for developers on residential and commercial/industrial sites, Local Authorities, private individuals, structural engineers, architects, insurance companies and other specialists looking to add value to projects. Maybe its a reflection of their breadth of experience that means they tend to work on the more difficult projects!
They are currently looking for a Project Engineering / Environmental Geologist with at least 1-4 years of relevant industry experience, who is keen to progress their career working on ground investigations & consultancy projects within a small, professional, team.

A relevant BSc degree in geology or similar is essential, and a MSc in Engineering Geology or Environmental Geology will be advantageous.
With support from colleagues, you will manage and deliver a range of technical projects including Phase 1 Desk Studies, Geotechnical and Contaminated Land Ground Investigation/Assessments, Remedial Method Statements and Verification Works. We encourage full ownership of projects with support from senior colleagues throughout.
The responsibilities for this positions will include, but are not limited to the following:
Preparation of Phase I Desk Studies.
Design, set-up, and management of site investigations, including sampling and logging of soils and rocks.
Scheduling of chemical and geotechnical laboratory testing.
Preparation of site-specific Health and Safety risk assessments.
Gas and groundwater Monitoring.
Preparation of Geotechnical and Phase II Contamination Reports, Remedial Method Statements and Verification Reports.
