Our client is actively seeking an Assistant General Manager with a view to promotion within 2 years as General Manager:
BSc. or MSc. in Civil Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology, Chemistry, Physics or similar
Good command of written and spoken English
Strong technical background in ground investigation, construction materials testing, laboratory testing.
Preparation of commercial and technical tenders and subsequent negotiation.
Strong project and contract management experience.
Familiarity with Quality and Health & Safety Management Systems
15+ years experience (experience in Gulf region would be an advantage)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Deputise for the General Manager during periods of absence
? Support the General Manager in the companys business development, including development of new revenue streams
? Support the General Manager with preparation of annual business plans and budgets
? Representation of the companys interests in the public domain, at industry level functions and conferences
? Promoting the companys activities to potential clients
? Keep abreast of technical innovations within the companys sphere of operations
? Monitoring and evaluation of operations
? Review of tender documents, overseeing and contributing to both commercial and technical aspects of tender preparation.
? Provide technical and commercial support to the Drilling & Geotechnical Manager and Laboratory Operations Manager
? Oversee contractual and commercial aspects, including budgetary control of projects
? Liaison with other MCL departments (Human Resources, Legal & Contracts, Accounts, Administration, QHSE)
? Develop and nurture technical and commercial skills of junior company personnel.
? Ensure that operations are carried out in accordance with the Companys established policies and procedures.
? Monitoring of quality and HSE management systems
